Neptune Marina, Ipswich

The high specification apartments of Redrow's new Neptune Marina development, situated on the waterfront in Ipswich, Suffolk, epitomise modern living and boast the luxury of DEVI electric underfloor heating.

DEVI was involved early on in the project and was responsible for the design, manufacture, supply and installation of the direct-acting underfloor heating system, the cables of which were laid within the screed during construction.

DEVI worked with Eastern Electricity to make the heating at Neptune Marina as economical as possible for end users; as a result, the system runs on 18 hour off-peak tariff.

The system is automatically switched off three times a day for two hours but, as there is enough heat retained in the thermal mass of the escreed, this has no effect on the overall temperature of the apartments. As a result, it is essentially a direct-acting system while at the same time offering considerable savings in running costs.
